Dates announced for the third Saudi Maritime Congress

Ambition, innovation and growth

Tuesday, 10th of May 2022

As we head toward the third Saudi Maritime Congress, I am delighted to see so much of our industry embracing the opportunities ahead both within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
and its connected global supply chain.

When we, Seatrade Maritime, started discussing and planning for this event in 2013 with H.E. Saleh Al-Jasser, the then Bahri CEO, before his journey towards Minister of Transport had taken flight, we were excited and enthused by the breadth of ambition, innovation and growth aspirations shown by the Kingdom.

Under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, the world then saw the launch of the Vision 2030 strategy, which propels the Kingdom’s ambition to a new level.

The Saudi Maritime Congress is here to support the realisation of a key aspect of the Vision 2030 strategy – The National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP) – which focuses on transforming Saudi Arabia into an Industrial Powerhouse and a global logistics hub.

This important programme is key for the maritime and logistics communities globally as it represents a raft of new strategic investments and opportunities. The Saudi Maritime Congress gathers key stakeholders involved under one roof over two days to bring to life conversations and connections directly relating to new and expanding opportunities.

Whether you are a supplier/manufacturer looking to make new partnerships aligned to the exciting new IMI shipyard project (to name one project of many); a service provider looking to expand your client portfolio to an ever-growing locally-owned fleet; or an owner/operator looking to better understand the significant investment underway in the port and logistics infrastructure across the Kingdom; this event has something for everyone.

Accompanying a show-floor packed with exhibitors, the conference will be held for two days on 28 and 29 September, 2022, and will focus on several key areas, namely:

  • Macro updates on regional industry performance
  • Innovation in technology and its application regionally
  • The fuel revolution and the significant role the region plays in future fuels
  • Logistics innovation and investment both inside the Kingdom and regionally
  • Training and education partnerships with colleges and academies
  • The offshore marine industry and its focus and future

The ambition of the Kingdom is one we share for the Saudi Maritime Congress itself. I’m excited for all those customers joining us early on this journey, as they will be among the first to capitalize on the commercial opportunities. But I’m equally excited to see the number of customers the show caters to grow exponentially in the not-too-distant future, as we work together to continue developing the most influential industry event in the Kingdom.
